Terms of Use
Last updated: September 25, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Paul Planchon, the individual in France who publishes melled ("we", "us"). They are also the end user license agreement for the melled iOS app. Please read them with our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines, which are part of these terms.
Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using melled, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Who can use melled
You must be 18 or older. By using melled, you confirm that you are. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it.
You also can't use melled if we have banned you before, or if the law forbids you from using it.
Your account
- Give accurate information and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- One person per account. Don't share accounts or impersonate anyone.
- If you think someone else got into your account, tell us at support@melled.app.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → account management → delete account. The Privacy Policy explains what gets erased and when.
The license to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use melled on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not copy, modify, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
melled is free. There are no in-app purchases and no ads.
Your content
Your content is everything you put in melled: photos, titles, places, tags, reactions, board items, cutouts, your profile picture and display name.
You own your content. We don't claim any rights to it beyond what we need to run melled.
To run the service, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process and display your content. We use this license only to:
- show your content to the people you share it with, meaning your friends and the members of your albums;
- generate album covers and photo descriptions, as explained in the Privacy Policy;
- keep melled running, secure and safe, including reviewing reported content.
The license ends when your content is deleted, apart from backup copies that expire within 30 days.
You promise that you have the right to share what you post, and that the people who appear in your photos are OK with it.
People you share with can see your photos and save them to their device. Deleting a photo in melled can't remove copies someone already saved.
Acceptable use
melled has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not post or share content, or behave in a way, that:
- involves minors in any sexual or sexualized way. We remove it, ban the account and report it to the authorities;
- is nudity, pornography or sexually explicit;
- shares intimate images of anyone without their consent;
- harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone;
- attacks people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or similar characteristics;
- shows or encourages violence, self-harm or cruelty;
- promotes or involves illegal activity, including illegal drugs or weapons;
- reveals someone's private information, such as their address, without their consent;
- infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- is spam, a scam or malware.
You also must not:
- try to access accounts, albums or data that aren't yours;
- disrupt, overload or reverse engineer the service, or scrape it;
- use melled for commercial purposes or advertising;
- get around a block, suspension or ban.
The Community Guidelines explain these rules in plain words.
Reporting and blocking
- You can report a photo, board content or a person from within the app. You can also email support@melled.app.
- You can block someone to stop them from interacting with you in melled.
- We review reports within 24 hours.
Moderation and termination
We review every report within 24 hours. When content or behavior breaks these terms, we may:
- remove the content;
- suspend the account;
- permanently ban the person, and remove their content.
We decide based on how serious the violation is and whether it has happened before. Some violations, such as anything sexualizing a minor, lead straight to a ban. We report illegal content to the authorities when the law requires it or when someone's safety is at risk.
If we suspend or ban your account and you think we got it wrong, write to support@melled.app and we'll look at it again.
You can stop using melled and delete your account whenever you want. We may stop offering melled, with reasonable notice in the app where we can.
AI-generated covers
melled uses AI to generate album covers and photo descriptions from album photos. These are generated automatically. They can be inaccurate, strange, or show people differently from how they look. They don't reflect our views. If a cover bothers you, you can report it.
You can use the covers of albums you're in for personal, non-commercial purposes.
The service is provided "as is"
We work to keep melled running and your content safe, but we can't promise the app will always be available, error-free, or that content will never be lost. Keep your own copies of photos that matter to you. melled is provided "as is" and "as available", to the extent the law allows.
We may change, add or remove features at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the extent French law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by other users, by content they post, or by events outside our control.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury, or your rights as a consumer under French and EU law, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.
Apple-specific terms
These terms apply because you downloaded melled from Apple's App Store.
- Agreement. This agreement is between you and Paul Planchon only, not Apple. Paul Planchon, not Apple, is solely responsible for melled and its content.
- Maintenance and support. Paul Planchon is solely responsible for maintaining and supporting melled. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- Warranty. Paul Planchon is responsible for any product warranty, whether express or implied by law, that is not disclaimed. If melled fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for melled. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by a failure to conform to a warranty are Paul Planchon's responsibility.
- Product claims. Paul Planchon, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims from you or a third party about melled or your possession and use of it. This includes product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- Intellectual property. If a third party claims that melled or your possession and use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Paul Planchon, not Apple, is solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- Legal compliance. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated by the US government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use melled, such as your mobile data plan.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country.
If you have a problem, write to support@melled.app first. Most things can be sorted out that way. If we can't agree, and you are a consumer, you can refer the dispute to a consumer mediator free of charge, under articles L.611-1 and following of the French Consumer Code. You can also go to the competent French courts, or the courts where you live if the law gives you that right.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top. For important changes, we will let you know before they apply. If you keep using melled after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't accept them, you can delete your account.
